Accessibility

Our commitment

We want as many people as possible to be able to use this website. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA, and this website conforms to that standard except for the item listed under “Known limitations” below.

What we have done

• The site uses semantic headings, landmarks and link text, and every page has a “skip to content” link, so screen readers and keyboard users can navigate it.
• Every interactive element has a clearly visible keyboard focus style, and the site can be navigated by keyboard alone, including the video player dialog and the contact form.
• The site honours your “reduce motion” system setting: animations, scroll effects and the animated story are replaced with still content.
• The animated and interactive demonstrations are illustrative; the information they show is also written in the surrounding text.
• Text colours are chosen for contrast against their backgrounds, and the layout adapts to small screens and to browser zoom without loss of content.
• The contact form announces errors and confirmation to screen readers, labels every field, and supports browser autofill.

How we tested

The site was audited against WCAG 2.2 AA in August 2026 using a combination of automated checks (axe-core on every page), manual keyboard-only testing, screen reader testing, and checks of colour contrast, reflow at small screen sizes, text spacing and reduced motion. The audit covered every page of the site.

Known limitations

• The captions on our introduction video are currently machine-generated. We are preparing an edited caption track, and will update this statement when it is in place.
• The “how it grows” story is driven by scrolling. With “reduce motion” enabled it is presented as still frames, but the full animated version needs a pointing device or scroll gesture.
